Time Flies

After spending time in Marion, Indiana this weekend for Heather's graduation from Indiana Wesleyan University a thought came to me. My nephew, Zack, reminded me that I had a BLOG - who knew - APPARENTLY NOT ME.

Quite frankly, in all the transition of the past 2 years, I had FORGOTTEN that this blog was created. So, for anyone that still checks out things like this, here goes.

I left Rapid City First Wesleyan in July of 2008. In June of that same year, I went to work as a Ministry Representative for Mission of Mercy. This international child relief agency faced some fiscal challenges with the challenging economy and in March, 2009, I was laid off.

We had just bought our first house (previously lived in a parsonage). I worked at odd jobs - consulting for Rapid City Christian, roofing and stocking ice cream - until I accepted a position as Senior Pastor at Muskegon First Wesleyan Church in Muskegon, Michigan.

We moved to Muskegon in late July, 2009 and are currently finishing out our first year here.

Jason graduated from High school in Rapid City last year. He chose to stay in Rapid City and lives with the Wileys (our friends). Heather graduated from IWU with a children ministry degree and plans to spend about 6 weeks in Israel this summer. Christy is a Freshman at Reeths Puffer High School and still loves sports. She played basketball and now is on the track team.

We have an international student - Natasha - staying with us until June 15. She lives in Italy and has been a delight to have in our home.
